Similarities and Differences Between Movies and STARTUPS

On Thursday, at the Venture Café Warsaw Foundation, I participated alongside very interesting guests (Olga Cerkarska, Ahmad Piraiee, Piotr Chomczyk) in a panel titled “Similarities and differences between movies and startups.

Our aim was to find commonalities and explore what startups could learn from the world of films. We discussed topics such as funding, building investor trust, as well as pitching, wherein storytelling and the presentation of ideas play crucial roles in attracting investors.

Personally, I approach startups from the perspective of presentations, as my background lies in theatrical improvisation, which entails stage awareness, confidence, and public speaking skills.

It’s important to remember that during pitching, we present not only our

✅ product, service, and team capable of meeting goals and bringing profits to potential investors,

but also

ourselves ❗ .

Therefore, the way we present our product and our confidence during presentations and public speaking are crucial. The first impression is significant, influencing whether we are perceived as project or company leaders, and whether working with us will be successful.
